Supervised Apartment Living Independent Living Arrangement (18-month transitional program for clients aged 18-21)
Open Arms Residential Services, LLC independent living arrangement is designed to enhance and teach self-sufficiency skills to young adults aged 17-21 in the form of case management and scattered site-supervised apartments. Open Arms Residential Services, LLC provides program clients with an Independent Living Coach (case manager) who guides them in their plight with case management and transportation services. The program is customized to meet each person "where they are" to ensure success. Each client sets goals and follows an individualized Independent Living Plan (ILP).
The goal of this program is to motivate our clients to become self-sufficient and productive members of the community. Therefore, supplemental services such as life skills training, employment assistance, supervised apartments, identifying viable community resources and transportation are integral to the success of our clients. Open Arms Residential Services, LLC provides these services and support to our clients as they transition to self-sufficiency. We focus on clients who are transitioning from group home living, foster homes, and transitional shelters. We link with area group homes, shelters, and foster homes prior to discharge with case management services so that clients are better prepared for life before being released into the community. After receiving intensive life skills services from our company, clients who are 17 and older can live in a supportive, supervised apartment environment until they are fully prepared to live on their own. Participation in this program is likely to reduce the amount of homelessness and unprepared youth as they "age out" of the foster care system.
